Montage of current club layouts Club Name Copyright © 2002-2010, Crawley Model Railway Society [Apr 10] Made with Xara Web Designer Made with Xara Web Designer ‘Hünfelden’ 3.5mm:1ft Scale HO Gauge For more pictures, visit  We are currently in the advanced stage of planning a new HO layout to be named Hünfelden which takes its inspiration from the Lahn valley in Germany. The Lahn flows into the Rhine near Koblenz, the area enjoying both varied rail operations and superb scenery, both of which we hope to recreate in the model. The layout is essentially a double track main line on a gentle curve running alongside the river. It will feature a junction station with a small loco service area and freight facilities. There will also be some local light industry.  The layout will be set in the late 60's, however this will not preclude stock from other periods (or countries) being run. The main running lines will feature overhead catenary, however the yard and branch lines will not, a typical prototypical mixture of the era. It is intended to wire the layout to make it capable of DC or DCC control, albeit not at the same time. A feature planned for this layout is making the whole frontage follow the gentle curve of the main line, providing an interesting perspective for the viewer, and some challenges for baseboard construction. It is hoped that we will start actual construction towards the end of the summer this year. Please Contact Us you are interested in finding out more or helping in construction.
